Graševina Croatica, the regional association of winemakers of Slavonia and the Croatian Danube region, staged the second Dunav Wine Festival on 10 October together with the Tourist Board of Vukovar-Srijem County, at Principovac in Ilok. Guests were welcomed with premium wines of Slavonia and the Croatian Danube, Thai specialities served in courses, fiery dance performances and spicy wine-based cocktails…
For some visitors the story began with a tasting of sparkling wines and a lavish Ilok lunch at the Papak winery in Ilok, and continued with Mamoothfest in Mohovo. Numerous fossil remains of mammoths and other prehistoric animals have been unearthed in this suburban settlement of Ilok, and the visit also offered the chance to ride in vehicles modelled on the popular Flintstones cartoons.
In the evening there was free tasting of local producers’ wines for everyone, alongside many other attractions. The atmosphere is beautifully captured by the photographs of Ivana Pranjić (Cork Croatia).
