The rich programme of the fifth Slavonia and Podravina Wine and Bites Festival, wine not!?, has been unveiled at the Janković Castle Visitor Centre in Suhopolje. The most abundant edition yet opens on 6 September and runs until 4 October — a week longer than before. The first gathering, “Kak je v duši, tak je v kleti” (“As it is in the soul, so it is in the cellar”), takes place on Saturday, 6 September at the Klopotec Tourist Information Centre on Kladarski Breg, in the heart of the Bilogora vineyards above Pitomača. On Friday, 12 September, the festival moves to the slopes of Papuk, to the Geo-info Centre in Voćin. There the “Papuk Wine Voyage” is on the programme, marrying traditional cuisine and exceptional wines to a modern setting.
On Friday, 19 September, the Dravska Priča Visitor Centre in Noskovci hosts the “Wine Party in the Noble Park,” and on Saturday, 20 September, on the slopes of Papuk and Krndija above Orahovica, the unusual “Wine&Run” marathon: no running at all, just a walk through nature and the enjoyment of top wines. On the final weekend of September the Festival arrives at beautiful castles. On Friday, 26 September, at the Janković Castle Visitor Centre in Suhopolje, guests will enjoy “Tamburas and Wine, Noble Style,” and on Saturday, 27 September, at Pejačević Castle — the Virovitica Town Museum — another “Wine&Art.”
For the first time, “Slavonia and Podravina, wine not!?” comes to Slatina, to the EPIcentar Sequoia, where “An Evening of Wine Beneath the Sequoia” will be held. Depending on the event, places are limited to between 40 and 60 people, and up to 100 for the “Wine&Run” marathon; the entry fee is 22 euros per person for each. Anyone wishing to enjoy the historic settings of the Noble Route and the beautiful green oases of Slavonia and Podravina can secure a place on the website of the Virovitica-Podravina County Tourist Board.
