For five evenings running, sommelier Lucija Matijevic, at the invitation of the Croatian Sommelier Club, led the Hidden Charms of Istrian Wines tastings during the just-concluded Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag 2025 tennis tournament. First the best fresh Malvazija (Malvazija Istarska, Istria’s flagship white) was chosen, then an aged Teran, then the best sparkling wine made by the classic method, the best red blend, and the best aged Malvazija. The selection of the 2025 ATP wine concluded on 25 July, when Cuvee Noir 1903 from the Ravalico winery, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, was proclaimed first among equals. The trophies were handed out on the final day of the tournament, Saturday 26 July. Congratulations to the winner!
