The People’s Choice was among the most eagerly awaited moments of the WineOS fair this past Friday and Saturday. With 5,496 votes, visitors decided on the festival’s best wines and spirits. In the white wine category the most votes went to the Bijeli Muškat of Obiteljski podrum Zajec; among rosés, the Rosé of the K55 winery and distillery; and among reds, the Mercellus of the Apostol winery. Coletti’s Blanc de Chardonnay took the most votes in the sparkling category, while Moostra plum brandy won among the spirits.

Over the two days of the fair, WineOS was visited by nearly 5,000 people, among them around 200 business guests from the HoReCa sector, distribution, the wine industry and tourism. The programme and exhibitors were followed by 113 accredited journalists from Croatia and the region, while more than 150 exhibitors presented themselves at stands, on stages and at accompanying events, representing wineries, distilleries and producers of gastronomic delicacies, barrels and other wine and viticultural equipment.

Around 5,000 glasses were in circulation, more than 5,000 bottles of water were drunk, over 4,000 packets of savoury snacks were eaten, more than 1,500 tasting portions of food were prepared on the gastro stage and at the exhibitors, and almost two tonnes of ice were used so that the wines could be served at optimal temperature.
