Visitors at Zagreb’s Hilton Garden Inn hotel enjoyed the best of Zadar County on 18 September, at the presentation of Zadar as a top eno-gastro destination and MICE hub. MICE is an acronym for the industry that organises business meetings, incentive travel, conferences and business events / exhibitions / fairs.
Under the motto Say YES to the Zadar region, the people of Zadar presented Zagreb with outstanding wines, olive oils, cheeses, honeys and local delicacies, along with inspiring venues for business gatherings, conferences and incentive programmes. Chefs Tomislav Karamarko and Bruno Kalmeta prepared dishes with an emphasis on local ingredients, sommelier Ivan Stiblik presented the best Zadar wines, and Filip Erceg exceptional olive oils.
With eight presentation tables, local producers brought the soul of Zadar into the heart of Zagreb. Authentic flavours, creative experiences and the charm of the Adriatic created a fine fusion of business meeting and pleasure. We wanted to present the richness of the Zadar table: wines that win medals, oils that carry designations of origin, and food that is part of our identity, the organisers said.
Alongside gastronomy and wine, special emphasis was placed on the development of business and sustainable tourism. County Prefect Josip Bilaver stressed that the goal is to make Zadar County globally recognisable, not only as a summer destination but as a region that attracts visitors and business partners throughout the year, while Hrvoje Anić, director of the Zadar County Tourist Board, said the event was the result of years of work on developing the eno-gastro offer and strengthening the region’s capacity in the business-tourism segment.
New high-category hotel properties in Zadar County, which contribute to this vision of year-round tourism, were also presented. Among them are the Hyatt in Zadar, the Hilton in Preko and Molum in Sveti Filip i Jakov.
