Croatia will once again attempt to set a Guinness World Record. On Saturday, 6 September, in the village of Jaškovo, part of the Town of Ozalj, Karlovac County together with the towns of Karlovac and Ozalj will attempt to make a strudel three kilometres long. With a strudel of 1,479.38 metres they entered the record book in 2015. Preparation begins at around 11 a.m., and the organisers hope to complete the strudel within four hours. The record-breaker will be donated to various institutions and organisations.

This year’s Štrudlafest also offers fun for the whole family: walks, bike rides, kayak paddling, the Strudel Maniac picnic, creative and educational workshops, and displays of old customs. And while Saturday is reserved for breaking the record, on Sunday 7 September the best Croatian strudel will be chosen. There will be music on both days. On Saturday Hrvatske Ruže perform, and on Sunday Damir Kedžo. The full programme, as well as the recipe for the perfect strudel, is on the Štrudlafest website.
