Lucija Matijević presented the vintage sparkling wines of Plešivica, Manuela Plohl the world of Plešivica’s wine diplomacy, and Kristijan Harjač some of the finest red wines of this small yet significant Croatian wine subregion at Zagreb’s Hotel Esplanade. It was the curtain-raiser for Wine Days, which this year will be held in the grounds of Erdödy Castle in Jastrebarsko from 26 to 28 September.
Sixteen wineries will take part: Josip Braje, Robert Braje, Griffin Ivančić, Željko Gregorić, Jagunić, Kolarić Coletti, Mladina, Vino Sirovica, Šoškić, Tomac & Bajda, Dobra berba, RJ Winery, Šember, Kurtalj, Krešimir Režek and Ivančić. Visitors will be able to get to know Plešivica’s wines in greater depth at workshops devoted to sparkling wines, characterful Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, Rhine Riesling and amber wines, and there will be music too. Performing are Bruno Rački & Valovi, Gospodari tambura, Danijela Martinović and Dalmatino, with free admission to all concerts.
