This wine was born from a desire to show the full potential of Malvazija when it is approached with care and patience. We believe that Malvazija Narducci will be recognised above all by the restaurateurs for whom it was primarily bottled, in a run of just 5,000 bottles, say the team at the Zagreb wine bar Brolo, where the 2023 vintage of this premium wine from the Arman Marijan winery of Vižinada was presented.
Malvazija Narducci rested for four months in stainless-steel tanks on fine lees, which lent it a rounded structure, ripe aromatics and elegance. It is fresh, yet layered, and finely expresses the terroir of Vižinada. They recommend it with cold seafood starters, particularly spider crab, with white fish, white meats seasoned with Mediterranean herbs, and even with grilled young goat’s cheese.
We don’t like to say that we cultivate the vine; rather, we raise and get to know one another. We do not
produce, but live wine. We think we practise the most beautiful art in the world –
wine, Marijan Arman used to say; he passed away in 2022. That love of wine has been carried on by his daughters Ines and Nina, who place their focus on indigenous Istrian varieties such as Malvazija and Teran.
The Arman Marijan range includes both fresh and aged wines, among which the still wines Malvazija G Cru, Cuvée Superior Blanc and Teran Rezerva stand out, along with the sparkling Stanzia Brut and Rosé Duet. They devote particular attention to limited series in magnum bottles.
