Slow Wine Train! Riding from Osijek to Erdut for a feast of wines

To celebrate its title of RECEVIN Dionisio European Wine Region for 2025, the Tourist Board of Osijek-Baranja County chose a special wine journey to unveil the Wine Month of Osijek-Baranja County and the third issue of the destination magazine Via Slavonija i Baranja. Guests boarded a slow train in Osijek and, already during the ride to Erdut, tasted a hand-picked selection from the Vina Erdut, Siber, Brzica, Antunovic, Magistra, Royal Hill, K55, Danubio, Rogic and Jakovac wineries. Damir Zrno was the engine driver of the tasting, and each glass was accompanied by selected Danube-region cheeses, nuts and fruit.Guests aboard the Slow Wine Train tasting Slavonian and Danube wines during the journey.

At the Vina Erdut winery the travellers were welcomed with sparkling wine, strawberries and a walk through the vineyards overlooking the Danube. The adventure continued toward Aljmas. At the K55 winery and distillery they toured the cellar and the vineyards of Grasevina (Welschriesling) and the Kadarka rescued from oblivion. It was here that the third issue of the destination magazine Via Slavonija i Baranja was officially presented, bringing fresh wine stories, eno-gastro recommendations and inspiration for exploring Slavonia and Baranja. The Slow Wine Train was thus far more than a train ride: it was a chance to experience the Danube terroir and to meet the wines, the landscapes and the people who craft the finest drops of this region. The project was co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg Danube international cooperation through the #RomansWineDanube project. The third issue of Via Slavonija i Baranja magazine was presented at the K55 winery and distillery in Aljmas.
