Set on the plateau of the Aljmaš hill in the Erdut vinogorje (wine-growing district), it represents a blend of tradition and modern vision. Although operating under this name, the K55 winery & distillery of the Dugalić family was founded in 2023, and it quickly earned a place on Croatia’s wine map. Across four hectares of its own vineyards, located in Aljmaš at around 150 metres above sea level, the family cultivates a broad palette of varieties and achieves an annual production of 20,000 bottles.
The vineyards are planted with Graševina, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminac, Muškat Žuti (Yellow Muscat), Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Kadarka. What sets K55 apart in particular are its century-old plantings, and the absolute star of the cellar is Graševina Antique Premium 100+, which comes from a vineyard more than a hundred years old.
Award-winning labels and the revival of Kadarka
The quality of their wines has been confirmed at numerous professional competitions. Graševina Antique Premium 2023 won gold at Mundus Vini 2025, silver at Decanter 2025 and a high third place at the Festival of the 100 Best Wines of Croatia 2026. Also notable are skilfully composed cuvées such as Trofetta (Graševina and Chardonnay) and Angelica (Traminac and Muškat Žuti), as well as K55 Rosé, which regularly wins the public’s top spot at the WineOs festival as part of the “People’s Choice” competition. Silver medals at Mundus Vini 2026 also crowned Graševina 2025 and the red Cuvée Noir Dorat 2023.
The winery invests great effort in reviving Kadarka. Toward the end of the year, an aged version of Kadarka Premium 2023, from a vineyard over a hundred years old, is expected, along with the aforementioned Cuvée Noir Dorat 2023 (a blend of Kadarka, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon), while the long-term plan is to expand the plantings of this variety. Beyond wine, the family also produces spirits within its distillery. The tasting room in Aljmaš is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on other days by appointment. A major hit of wine tourism at K55 is the picnic in the vineyard, as well as themed wine events such as the K55 White Sunset Party and the K55 Great Gatsby Party in the vineyard.
