Vinski klub is organising the third selection of Croatia’s 100 best wines, and 25 Croatian sommeliers — outstanding connoisseurs of our wine scene — are already putting forward their nominations. We will be publishing their nominations through to the end of this year, and based on the number of votes we will know the best in six categories. There will be 16 sparkling wines, 12 rosés, 28 whites, eight amber (orange) wines, 28 reds and eight dessert wines. The best will then go to a blind tasting. The judges, of course, will not know which wines are in their glasses, and the Vinski klub team will therefore not take part in the judging, so that we end up with the top three in each category. The wineries behind those wines will receive awards for first, second and third place; the rest will be — fourth. 
Should several wines share the same score, they will share the place they have earned. The awards will be presented on 24 January at the Festival of Croatia’s 100 Best Wines at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel. In front of an audience, of course. It will be a celebration for every wine lover, who will enjoy not only the wines but also the meat, fish and other delicacies of the finest producers. As a reminder, last year the overall best-rated wine was the Prisbus Riserva 2018 from the Baraka winery on the Srima peninsula between Šibenik and Vodice. It won 96 out of a possible 100 points and was, naturally, also the best among the red wines. 
Pavel 2019 from the Plešivica-based Šember winery was the best-rated sparkling wine, while Bastian Rosé 2023 from Istria came first among the rosés. Venje bijelo 2015 by Ivan Enjingi from Kutjevo was the best white, Neuburger 2018 from the Coletti winery on Plešivica took the amber category, and Graševina Ice Harvest 2018 from the Kutjevo winery won among the dessert wines. At the first Festival, in 2024, the best sparkling wine was Blanc de Blancs Korak, first among the rosés was Rosé Galić, among the whites Maraština Ante Sladić, among the amber wines Dobravac Simminor, among the reds Cabernet Franc Premium Trs, and among the dessert wines Zelenac Izborna berba bobica Krauthaker.
