The Tikveš winery has achieved another notable success on the international wine scene, winning a total of 15 accolades at the prestigious Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2026 and Citadelles du Vin 2026 competitions. Among them are special awards for the best producer from Macedonia and for the best Macedonian wines in the white and red categories.

At the Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2026, Tikveš won a total of ten accolades, including three special awards. The winery was named the best producer from Macedonia, while its wines took the titles of best Macedonian wines in the white and red categories.
The award for the best Macedonian white wine went to Bela Voda White 2025, which also won a gold medal. The title of best Macedonian red wine was taken by Barovo Red 2022, likewise awarded gold.

Gold medals also went to Babuna Red 2023, Bela Voda Red 2022, Luda Mara Red Cuvée 2024 and Babuna White 2025.

The results carry added weight because of the strict criteria of the Mundus Vini competition. Under its rules, no more than 40 percent of all entered wines may be awarded a medal, which makes every accolade particularly valuable. The two Best of Show awards for the finest wines from Macedonia, along with the recognition for best producer, represent the peak of this year’s success for Tikveš.

“This success is powerful confirmation that the wines we create at Tikveš are marked by outstanding quality and authenticity, and that they stand out even in the strongest international company. We are especially pleased that the accolades come for wines from our different terroirs and different styles, which shows that the potential of Macedonian viticulture can deliver top results across a wide range of wine categories. Our ambition is to go on creating wines of recognisable signature and outstanding quality, which will rightfully represent Macedonian wine on the world stage,” said Svetozar Janevski, chairman of the management board of Tikveš.
A Grand Gold in France
The success of Tikveš continued at the French competition Citadelles du Vin 2026, where the Macedonian wine brand won three gold accolades.
Domaine Lepovo Grand Cuvée 2023 won a grand gold medal, along with the special Prix Special North Macedonia award. Gold medals also went to Barovo Red 2022 and Bela Voda White 2023.
This year’s edition of Citadelles du Vin brought together 369 wines from 16 countries, judged by 45 professional tasters from 19 countries, which gives the results achieved by Tikveš additional weight.
